Waterproofing is a very important event to protect the foundation of the building from the destructive action of moisture. It prevents the accumulation of moisture in the basements and is considered one of the most difficult stages in the construction of the house. The waterproofing of the foundation is divided into two types: – horizontal – designed to protect against lifting soil moisture according to the foundation and further on the walls. It is carried out using special materials;- the vertical waterproofing of the foundation is intended to protect it from moisture, which has accumulated as a result of precipitation and for other reasons at the location of the foundation. Vertical waterproofing, depending on the method of applying the material and its type, is divided into 5 main groups: 1) gluttonous – pasting the foundation with a waterproofing film; 2) screen – installation of the so -called "screen", which is a kind of shield from a mixture of clay and bentonite. It is used in case of high pressure of moisture on the foundation; 3) penetrating – filling all cavities and cracks in the foundation with a special water -repellent solution; 4) coating – applying moisture -resistant materials based on cement and bitumen to the walls of the foundation.5) drainage – drainage system. It is used for a very large concentration of groundwater, precipitation or other moisture sources. The drainage system is usually used together with one or more other types of vertical waterproofing. And finally, remember that the waterproofing of the foundation is a very important construction process. Without it, the building will begin to collapse in a very short time. As a rule, the cost of eliminating and correcting poor -quality waterproofing is much exceeds the cost of the work itself, therefore, approach this issue during the construction of the structure with maximum meticulousness.
