Fort Lauderdale: resort advantages and some facts

28.04.2024

Fort Lauderdale is a resort city in the state of Florida on the east coast of the United States. It is located close to the most famous beach resort in the States – Miami and the port city of West Palm Beach.

Fort Lauderdale is famous for the fact that it is from here that cruise ships with tourists depart for the Caribbean Sea. Fort Lauderdale also has an international airport that connects the United States and many countries in Latin and South America. And we just arrived in blooming Florida on the way from Los Angeles to fabulous Peru. But we had enough time to explore the city, see the sights of Fort Lauderdale, walk and relax on its beaches, so we took full advantage of our lucky connection. In the article I will tell you in detail about Fort Lauderdale and share my experience and recommendations that will be useful for those planning a trip to the East Coast of the United States or a cruise to the Caribbean Islands.

The resort city of Fort Lauderdale is located on the Atlantic coast near Miami. It is sometimes also called the “Venice of America” due to its extensive canal system. Despite the fact that we had already visited one such “Venice”, in Californian Venice, we could get acquainted with another coastal resort. Interestingly, Fort Lauderdale is part of a huge metropolitan area consisting of three cities – Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. In this way, it partly reminded us of Greater Los Angeles on the West Coast of the United States.

Interesting fact: Fort Lauderdale is known primarily for its beaches and, of course, the opportunity to sail on yachts (the yachting capital of America, after all!) or go on a cruise in the Caribbean.
