The city of Sarasota is home to one of the youngest, but no less interesting holidays – the Chalk Art Festival. This is a unique event dedicated to one of the most unusual movements of modern culture.
The festival takes place in November and lasts 10 days, during which a huge number of beautiful three-dimensional drawings appear on the asphalt of city streets and squares.
Every year the festival is dedicated to a certain cultural movement or historical era, the features of which modern artists try to reflect with the help of the most ordinary multi-colored chalk. The three-dimensional paintings they created are simply amazing in their realism; the festival also hosts a lot of interesting exhibitions and competitions.
March for Florida is a very hot month, because at this time (namely, the beginning of the month) another interesting festival takes place. This time, the “place of attraction” moves to the city of Okeechobee, where the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival event is held. The holiday, dedicated to music in all its manifestations, lasts for four days. Having quickly started in 2016, it immediately gained popularity and today is one of the largest music festivals in the United States, gathering musicians playing in different genres on the open-air stage of the Sunshine Grove pavilion. In Miami, after the UMF fest, electronic beats give way to jazz classics with a festival called Jazz in the Gardens. Two days of jazz and related genres from world-class musicians are prepared for the audience.
