Once you perform the installation of a floorboard, you will provide yourself with a beautiful, warm and reliable flooring for decades. This article implies that you have already chosen the material and now want to know how to put the floor from the boards on the lags. It is to this question that we will answer further.
How to lay a floorboard on the lags?
Lags from the beam is the most common base for the floorboard. The use of lag has several important advantages:
• the possibility of correcting significant irregularities of the floor;
• space under the floor for communicating;
• relative simplicity of laying (in comparison with other methods).
So how to lay a floorboard? First of all, cover the floor with a moisture insulation coating, especially this is important for the first floor. For this, roofing material or foil polyethylene (penopol) is suitable for this.
As a lag, a beam of 50 * 100 or 50 * 80 is used, it is mounted perpendicular to the future location of the floorboard. The thicker the boards themselves, the more the distance between the lags is allowed, optimally-30-40 cm.
It is best to choose boards of such a length that you can do without joints. If this is not possible, the joints must be placed on the lags. Paul boards are mounted with self -tapping screws, under which holes are pre -drilled at an angle of 50 degrees to the surface. The self -tapping screw on the first board should be closed by the skirting board, on all subsequent ones it is screwed into the spike and hides the next board. The self -tapping hat should turn out to be approximately 3 mm deeper than the surface, for this the entrance of the hole is made wider.
How to put the floor from the boards on plywood?
This method of installation of a floorboard is suitable only if the base is perfectly even. The advantage of this method is to save the height of the room due to the lack of space under the floor.
As the basis, stripes are used moisture-resistant plywood with a width of 40-60 cm. They are laid diagonally, and fixed with dowels or screws with plastic seals. Additionally, you can attach the plywood to concrete with glue.
You can put the floor board only on a perfectly flat and polished surface of plywood. The board is attached in the same way, with the help of self -tapping screws twisted into the spike.
After installation, the floor boards are polished, primed and covered with varnish, which performs protective functions. Good protection can be achieved by covering the floor with a varnish in 2-3 layers, each of which should dry well before applying the next.
