Flat roofs and materials for their manufacture

26.04.2017

Flat roofs are most often used in the construction of industrial and civil facilities. Their name is determined by a horizontal location, in which there is no pronounced slope, and the slope of the roof is no more than four percent towards the drainage system.

Also, flat roofs are often called soft, given the material from which they were made in recent times. As a rule, the basis of flat roofs was the melting bitumen materials in combination with mineral wrecking and sand-cement mass. Currently, flat roofs are built using glued or melted roller bitumen materials.

The main drawback of this type of materials is in low operational characteristics and short service life. But, despite this, roller bitumen materials have low cost and are widely used in various regions of the country.

To search for a company that will carry out high -quality construction of the roof, you should use tenders. Modern tenders are the possibility of choosing a business partner corresponding to previously agreed criteria.

Currently, many flat roofs are made of high -tech materials – polymer mastic and polymer roof membranes. Both are more optimal and durable than bitumen materials. Polyurethane mastics contain polyurethane resins and do not have bitumen and other cheap components. When applying to the surface of the roof, they create a chemically persistent and strong coating, called an elastic membrane.

Polymer membranes are canvases of reinforced material from polymers, which are cut specially under the configuration of the roof, then glued in a special way or welded with hot air and attached to the base of the roof.
